ÉireComposites has world-leading proprietary technology and know-how in thermoplastic composites, from glass-fibre polypropylene (Twintex®) to advanced carbon-fibre thermoplastics such as PEEK and PEKK, and has particular expertise in moulding of new liquid-moulded thermoplastic resins such as CBT®, APLC-12 and APLC-6.

ÉireComposites' engineers can offer a complete composites design service, using CATIA V5 and finite element analysis software such as PATRAN and NASTRAN.

Job Vacancy - Aerospace Engineering Manager

ÉireComposites is experiencing rapid growth in manufacturing and testing of composite materials for the worldwide aerospace industry. The company currently has a vacancy for an Aerospace Engineering Manager, who will report directly to the Joint Managing Director - Aerospace.

This new position will involve responsibility for all engineering aspects of the company's aerospace activities, including research and development projects, quotations on new manufacturing and design work, design and specification of First Article Inspection procedures, certification of new products and engineering support for production.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for new aircraft programmes, preliminary and critical design reviews, specification and purchase of new equipment, construction/fitting out of production facilities, and sourcing / negotiating with key suppliers. The company currently employs c. 10 engineers in aerospace activities. It is foreseen that this will double in the next 2-3 years, depending on the new business won by the company.

The Aerospace Engineering Manager will work closely with the Joint Managing Director-Aerospace and the Finance Director in developing (recruiting if necessary) and managing design, engineering and costing teams for new aircraft programmes, some of which may be located in the customers' premises. He/she will be a key member of the company's commercial team, negotiating the terms of large contracts with aerospace OEMs and Tier 1 Suppliers.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience of working at a high level in an aerospace Materials and Processes environment, and will have specialised in aerospace composites. An attractive salary and benefits package will be offered, commensurate with experience.
